The 4th World TCM & Acupuncture Week

CTCMDA co-hosts the 4th World TCM & Acupuncture Week

April 1, 2024

With the successful conclusion of the Third World Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture Culture Week (WTCMAW) in 2023, on behalf of Canadian Traditional Chinese Medicine Development Alliance (CTCMDA), Home of Canadian Traditional Chinese Medicine Society (HCTCMS), Canadian Community Service Association (CCSA), and Canton Chamber of Commerce Canada, we would like to extend an invitation to you to join us celebrating the upcoming Fourth World Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture Culture Week from June 15th to 24th, 2024. Our event theme for this year is "practicing medicine with compassion and care, promoting medicine with knowledge and integrity", to inspire each Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner in Canada and abroad, to not only broaden your knowledge of the medicine but always maintain your compassion and integrity, to not only care for your patients but also participate in advancement of your profession in your country. Each practitioner is the ambassador for Traditional Chinese Medicine to be an integral part of a high-quality, cost-effective community medical care in Canada and the world.

The worldwide adoption of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture today in the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental health disorders, and in health cultivations and lifestyle transformations demonstrated the medicine’s efficacies and benefits, but this is only the tip of the iceberg. Much work is needed to incorporate the medicine into our healthcare framework so we can build sustainable and cost-effective patient care benefiting different local communities within Canada and around the world. Thus, promoting TCM and Acupuncture, showcasing the medicine’s benefits and efficacies, and fostering further worldwide adoptions is the mission for many TCM scholars, practitioners, acupuncturists, and believers alike. Through the promotion of Traditional Chinese Medicine and its culture, not only on health and wellbeing, we also establish a platform to foster continual global cultural exchange and to encourage mutual appreciations of different ethnic cultures and customs. The past three consecutive World TCM & Acupuncture Culture Week events have gained worldwide support and praises. Because of the success in this annual TCM event, the government of BC proclaimed June 18 to 24, 2023 as “Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists Week”. With such great honor and endorsement, both CTCMDA and HCTCMS have teamed up to co-organize this year’s 4th World Traditional Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture Culture Week.

This ten-day event will include the opening ceremony, the announcement of newly published journal “World Journal of TCM & Acupuncture”, the TCM technical conference, the TCM & Acupuncture demonstration and free consultation clinic, and with round table discussions on topics related to advancing of TCM profession development in BC and to establishing collaboration framework between TCM practitioners and Western Medicine physicians. The invited guest speakers include China’s TCM grandmasters and their teams of TCM experts, renowned TCM experts and scholars across the world, and accomplished TCM practitioners within Canada. The TCM demonstration and free consultation clinic is open to the public, free admission, and welcoming to all age groups to experience. We expect this year’s event to have even greater success.

This invitation extends to guests from all three-level of Canadian governments, consulates, major associations, cultural groups, educational institutions, industries, media, and, of course, available online to everyone across the world. We welcome you to join us to witness, to participate, and to celebrate together in this annual TCM celebration.
